Now we got real winter

Temperature between -20 to -26 C both days and night in Nordmarken. All smaller lakes are frozen but some of the larger ones where we use to paddle are still open. There is a good deal of snow north of the Canoe Center in Risviken and I have spent 2 days tracking wolf. Found track after one adult yesterday and today fresh after one adult and one smaller wolf. 4 wolves were seen yesterday in the morning just near a road. But they were goner when I arrived.

The wolf track photo is from last years to day was difficult to take good photos in the very new snow from last night. Do hope the winter will stay some more weeks until the Extreme winter Survival training is done by some friends who is coming back in a few weeks.

 

 

 

We got snow and cold weather.

Finally we got some snow and cold weather. There is still open water out and Västra Silen but tonight we will have 20 minus so I´m hoping to get some ice. Winter fishing the last 2 years has been very bad. In beginning of next month there will be an extreme winter survival with some participants, who have been on both summer winter and extreme winter training before

The first dear I have seen outside the office was to day, but to bark to take photos.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be white with snow, every hill, lake and mountain shall be frozen and cold. It´s my dream. But we haven’t had winter the last years and I´m missing it. I do hope winter will come and it has slowly begun last night in Nordmarken.
Now only 5 month to the first canoe will be out on the water again. YAAAAA!

Lots of time to take it easy!

All this holydays around Christmas and New Year give me time to take a look at old photos. This is from The Macfie Clubs meeting some years ago when we took a tour in one of the large Montreal Canoes. We got two of them and it’s an adventure to take a tour with larger groups and go “Old Styling Canoeing “like the Voyageurs in Canada years ago. The canoes SAGWA and AMIK is looking forward to fine tours season 2016.
