40 years ago we open The Nordmarken Kanot Center at Risviken
Årjäng, in the beginning of the month of May. Lots of water has flown down the
river since 1975. 10 Thousands of guests have been on canoe and wilderness
tours here in Nordmarken. Many dreams of solitude in the nature have been fulfilled
during all this years.
In the year of 1975 we didn’t have Bears, Wolfs and Beaver
in the area and only a small number of Lynx.
Now we have report of this animals to be seen very often of locals and
a few of our guests.
We are, or better our son Kim is working hard to make some improvement
at the Canoe Center.
I got a new office for me at the main private building and
where I can have all memories since we started the Canoe business 1956. I even
have a lot of equipment I´m using when we run Survival and Bushcraft training.
The rooms I left at the Canoe Center is now arranged so that we can take guests
for overnight, there is also a kitchen, shower and a toilet.
We have a little Bear (our Mascot) taking care of us all
this years since 1956 and he or she was out this morning to check all the
flowers around our Base Camp.
The coming weeks are some of the best weeks for canoeing,
hiking and fishing.
