Total Fire Ban 2/7 0800 in the whole area

From Tuesday 2/7 0800 there is a TOTAL fire ban in the whole DANO Canoe area. It means that all type of open fire is not allowed. Use of Trangia spirit stove and gas stove can be used but be careful.

Well done guests at Camp North

Right now we do have a large group. We advise them to paddle separate and first in the evening find one of the approved camp cites the DANO area. All participants got a very good folder from The Travel Agency showing the paddle routes. Lots of information also given  to behave well as a guest in the nature.

Each canoes have a tracker so the leaders and we can see location of every canoes on tour. They also have an ECO group who will check the camp the guests have used, so everything is nice, clean and in good shape for new costumer. Respect from us at Nordmarken Canoe Center.

The show must go on !

I was thinking to slow down a bit with canoeing and outdoor life during 2018. Been in the canoe business since 1956 as a full time canoe outfitter and in the age of 85 years it had been a good idea to slow down.   But this year we have to bay some new canoes and canoe wheels, paddles and safety wests. The season is looking good, and to give our guests a fine experience, we made this investment. Thank you Linder Boat for prompt delivery of all equipment even if there was small things to talk about, but everything went 100% Ok and respect to the staff at Linder who gave very good service.

Hard work in heat ??

The last month of May have been extreme warm and sunny. Good tíme for outdoor work. All our paddles have got some fine oil and are now ready to go on tour. The last few days have been a bit to warm almost  +30 0 c in the shadow and this weekend we even got warmer.

Go together and have a nice time, good for the future .

All members of Scandinavian Canoe Outfitters Association (SCOA) had a meeting on one of the canoe camps with the DANO Canoe Service team. We discuss the coming season for our guests and how the Service team are working. In the month of May thy have concentrate with reparations of the canoe camps. There is a total fire ban right now, so they are not transport fire wood to the different camps, more checking the camps and do necessary reparation. It was a very nice summer evening for all of us.

First guests season 2018

The first of May month we open the canoe season 2018. Our first guests were the manager and 3 staff from an organisation we work with this year. We had long talk about security, very long session how to behaver in nature in Nordmarken and handling the canoes.

There are several responsibilities for our costumer and all must understand they are guests in nature and also sometimes on private land. 3 Staff will be in the area permanent rotating to check the folks on tour with our canoes. We have put up strict rules for open fire, handling and give way garbage and other issue to have respect for the area. When the first group arrive we have arrenge a meeting with the chief ranger from DANO canoe area. It’s nice and very good the travel agencies take full responsibilities selling canoe tour. Respect.
