Two day ago
I was shown some marks on a pine tree. There was sign of tooth and some of the
bark was ripped away from the tree. After checking with literature I can say it
must be from an animal we in Sweden call Kronhjort (Cervus elaphus) and in
English Red Deer. This mark on the tree is about 150m from my home.
In November
last year 2013 there was one of this deer seen a few hundred meters from our
Canoe Base Camp in Risviken and I saw even photos of it.
So what I have been saying before the wilderness
is coming close and closer. In Värmland there are now, more to the east, a
population of Red Deer.
